Nutritionalists considers the Mediterranean cuisine as being an excellent staple diet that promotes better health and eating standards.

A complete and balanced diet which notably reduces the risk of the so called diseases of modern civilisation, such as Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension, Arteriosclerosis, Digestive problems etc.

The diet is based on the consumption of foods of cereal and vegetable origin: bread, pasta, rice, fruit, vegetables, olive oil and a moderate intake of animal products with a preference for semi-skimmed milk, low fat cheeses, fish and lean meat.

For breakfast, biscuits or cereals, rich in carbohydrates which provide the energy boost needed, through to the main meals with a base of bread, pasta and rice.
