Since 2007, the Colussi Group has operated in Romania through a local savoury snack and pasta producer, trading its products on the market under the Monte Banato brand. As well as producing, it also distributes other products, under the Colussi brands and other imported trademarks. Today the company is one of the leading players in the pasta market, with a strong brand that has become a household name in Romania.

Following this positive experience in Romania, the Group decided to take an even more important step, then participating in a Joint Venture in Russia. The Colussi Group’s consolidated relationship with the major local importer sparked the idea and in 2009 it participated in a joint venture to develop its pasta business in Russia. The significant growth of the business called for several industrial investments: firstly, a pasta plant located in Schebekino on the Ukrainian border, then another one in Tula, not far from Moscow, and finally a third, all-new plant, with a built-in mill, in Balashov, in the Saratov region, famous for its cultivation of durum wheat. The company also distributes third party brands and complementary products.

Today the Russian joint venture is an important player in the pasta production market in Russia, having become one of the country’s leading manufacturers.

After a positive export test with an important customer in Mexico, in 2017 the Group incorporated Misura Americas to launch the Misura brand products in Mexico, offering a specific range, tailored to meet the country’s requirements. The healthy Misura products are an opportunity for Mexico, a market with one of the highest percentages of obesity in the world.
